UNDP Country Office Thematic Areas
In order to provide the best possible application of global focus areas to the citizens of Serbia, our initiatives are administered through thematic areas, or clusters, designed to be mutually supportive. These are:
Sustainable development and social inclusion focuses on the following:
- Sustainable economic growth and inclusive employment
- Area-based initiatives (isolated and disadvantaged regions)
- Gender equality and combating sexual and gender-based violence
- Inclusive development and expanded access to social services
Enabling framework for environmental management and energy efficiency focuses on the following:
- Compliance with international conventions and regulations
- Mechanisms to protect environment and to ensure efficient use of resources
- Mitigation of climate change impacts
- Awareness on environmental governance, rights and justice
Strengthened good governance focuses on the following:
- Improved transparency and accountability in the Government, legislature, judiciary and Independent Institutions
- Support to reform, professionalization and modernization of the public sector at all levels
- Civil society engagement in advocacy, policy making and monitoring
- Disaster preparedness and risk reduction
