UNDP Mission in Serbia

UNDP operates in Serbia through the Country Office in Belgrade and the project office in Novi Pazar, South West Serbia.

Our objectives for the country are outlined in the Country Programme Document (CPD), signed with the Government of Serbia in January 2005. This document is accompanied by its implementation plan - Country Programme Action Plan (CPAP), which has been designed together and approved by the Government in July 2005.

There are three key objectives defined for the period 2005-2009:

• Efficient, Accountable and People-Cantered Public Sector
• Strengthened Rule of Law and Equal Access to Justice
• Increased Capacity to Promote Sustainable Development

To achieve these objectives, our assistance is channeled through the following clusters of projects and programmes:  

• Inclusive Development
• Sustainable and Local Development
• Capacity Development for Accountable Governance

For the success of its ongoing and future activities in Serbia UNDP relies on the strong relationship with its partners. Our extensive network of partners includes the government, local authorities, international community, civil society, non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

We base our partnerships on the common visions of Serbia's future development and an in-depth understanding of development priorities facing the country.
